Meet Jendi Haug, MD
Dr. Jendi Haug is a board‑certified pediatric emergency medicine physician at CHRISTUS Children’s, where she provides expert, compassionate care to children and families during some of their most urgent and stressful moments.
Dr. Haug cares for infants, children and adolescents in the CHRISTUS Children’s Emergency Department. She is a proven, trusted leader in all types of emergencies and has more than 15 years of experience in practice. She is board certified in both Pediatrics and Pediatric Emergency Medicine by the American Board of Pediatrics.
In addition to her clinical role, Dr. Haug serves as an Assistant Professor with Baylor College of Medicine, reflecting her commitment to education, mentorship, and advancing pediatric emergency care for future clinicians.
She has served as the Associate Trauma Medical Director at CHRISTUS Children's for the last 10 years as well as the Prehospital Educator/Liaison Director. She has served in multiple leadership positions, including Vice Chair of the Department of Medicine and both Janus Rounds Director and Pediatric Grand Rounds Director.
In addition, she is an active member of the Pediatric Committee for STRAC (Southwest Texas Regional Advisory Council) as well as the state's GETAC (Governor's Emergency and Trauma Advisory Council) pediatric committee. She has created an educational course for community hospitals and prehospital providers titled Crashing Kids. Over the last four years, the Crashing Kids course has been used to educate many primarily-adult facilities and first responders across the region on the initial assessment and stabilization of ill children. She continues to dedicate her expertise and skills to reach others through the Pediatric Readiness program.
Her awards include the CHRISTUS Children's Professionalism award in 2022 and the CHRISTUS Health Living Our Values Award in the Category of Stewardship in 2024.
As a mother of four, Dr. Haug understands what families experience when a child needs emergency care. She is proud to serve at CHRISTUS Children’s, where care is guided by the mission of extending the healing ministry of Jesus Christ. Alongside the Pediatric Emergency Medicine team, she helps provide expert, compassionate care for children 24 hours a day, every day.
